Vacation homes for sale on rental land

When buying your own vacation home, you have the option of buying or renting the land with it. If you buy a vacation home on rented land, then you obviously own the vacation home, but not the land on which the home stands. You pay rent for the land, to the owner of the land. This can be fixed for a short period (one to two years) or for a long period (10 to 15 years).

The advantage of buying a vacation home on rental land is that it is cheaper in the short term than buying a vacation home with its own land.

Buying vacation home on rental land for a longer period of time

If you buy a vacation home on rental land for a fixed, longer period of time, you also own the vacation home, but not the land the home is on. Within this construction, you also pay rent to the owner of the land. The difference is in the term; it is fixed for a longer period. The advantage of this is that the owner of the land, cannot terminate the agreement early and thus you are assured of the use of the land for a longer period.

Differences on rented land vs. owned land

If we briefly summarize it for you, the differences are as follows:

When purchasing a vacation home on rental land, you do not own the land and pay rental fees for it. As a result, the purchase price of the vacation home is lower. Below we elaborate on the advantages.

If you buy a vacation home on private land, the purchase price of the vacation home is higher, but you also own the land. See here the advantages of buying a vacation home on your own land.

Vacation home leasing

A major player in the recreational real estate market has introduced the concept of vacation home leasing. This concept offers customers the opportunity to "own" a vacation home for a few hundred per month. At TopParken, we do not offer this option. We are happy to explain on this page why the advantages do not outweigh the disadvantages of leasing.
